Update of the field trip in Basel

As a student with architectural background, Basel must be the most important place for visiting in Switzerland. In last week, other two Ph.D. students of EPFL and I did a field trip at there and also studied the sustainable features through measurement and simulation for certain buildings.

That the bulidngs stand out in Basel is often because their contemporary architectural characteristics, especially form and technology. The first architectural center that we visited is the Vitra premises which is a collection of the interesting buildings like the museum building designed by Frank Gehry, the fire station designed by Zaha Hadid, and Tadao Ando's conference pavilion.
Also, we visited other notable buildings according to the handbook named Architectural Tour Guidance from tourism office. Some buildings with high-tech envelope attracted us more, and we entered the interior to measured the lighting environments. I got lots of information and knowledge from this trip, and we will think over the possibility to
combine with our present program----sustainable physical environments with the high-tech envelop.
