Second ThinkSwiss trip to Bern August 20, 2009

Welcome to all the ThinkSwiss newcomers who just arrived to Switzerland or who are going to arrive this week!

On Thursday, August 20, you are going to join the second ThinkSwiss trip to Bern. Again, we have put together an exciting program: One focus of the trip will be the Swiss Health Care System, since most of the participants are enrolled in the Nursing Science Summer School at the University of Basel.

Apart from visiting the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, you will also get to know more about the ThinkSwiss Program and meet staff of the U.S. Embassy. Of course there is also a touristy side of the trip: first you will have to get active on a guided city tour by scooter and afterwards you will be able to relax at the Restaurant Altes Tramdepot, where you can enjoy dinner with a great view over the old city of Bern.

ThinkSwiss participants on the trip:
ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship Awardees: Kayla from EAWAG (Research Institute of the ETH Zurich).
ThinkSwiss Travel Grants Awardees from the University of Basel Summer School on Measurement in Health Care Research (Institute of Nursing Science): Anne, Jill, Rachel Klimmek and Rachel DiFazio, Monica, Janine, Jose, Todd, Maria Lourdes and Asha.

Don’t forget to print out and bring along your e-ticket. For the city tour you need good shoes and rain gear in case of bad weather.

I look forward to reading your comments about the trip on the Blog!

Have a good time in Bern,

Ursina
Office of Science, Technology and Higher Education
Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C.
